Lesson Plan 3 - Phase II - Instructional Decisions/Teaching

  1. Instructional Decisions/Teaching (InTask Standard # 9):
Everything went very smoothly for this lesson. In my typed lesson I stated that I wanted my students to write one to two pages for their autobiography however when using Pixie, the page lengths are different than what would be considered a page in Word or on handwritten paper. I therefore adjusted my instruction and told my students that I was not grading length, only that they had their important events in chronological order, there was a good flow to their story, and mechanics. This was an easy fix and didn't interrupt the flow of teaching.
My lesson maintained the alignment to my objectives and standard perfectly. They used technology to create and publish their work while also collaborating with the classmates to proofread each other's work.
Other than the page length being made flexible, there were no other modifications. I did add in having them share one interesting fact about their classmate that they found out from reading their autobiography. I saw this as a potential community building bit and a chance for them to get to know their classmates better.
