Lesson Plan 2 - Phase II Instructional Decisions/Teaching

  1. Instructional Decisions/Teaching (InTask Standard # 9):
Incorporating the SmartBoard in my lesson worked really well for allowing students to come up and sort the examples I gave them. After reading my reviews, I agree with one student who stated that it would also be a good idea to have the students write their own examples on the SmartBoard rather than having them give examples orally. This way, students would have them to refer to on the board rather than memory. We had another small hiccup with Kidspiration when I forgot where the chronology activity was located (I was thinking stories and told them to click on Writing when it was actually in Social Studies). I had the correct location typed in my lesson plan. Student were involved and participated well, I think overall this part of my lesson went very well.
The standards and objectives were aligned- the objective this time was to create a chronological timeline that would be published online and that they would use this to organize their autobiography.
Something I should've added in was more explanation of terminology, specifically 'chronological'.
